Atsushi Nakajima
Atsushi Nakajima, MD, PhD is a Supervising professor of IUHW, and director of Atami Hospital from 2025. He used to work at Yokohama City University as a Professor and Chairman in the Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology for 25 years. Dr. Nakajima graduated from the Osaka University School of Medicine in 1989 and became an Assistant Professor of the 3rd Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine at University of Tokyo in 1997. He engaged in research as a Visiting Associate Professor at the GI division of Brigham and women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School from 2000 to 2006. He has carried out several clinical trials aiming at the new drug application for MASH and investigator-initiated studies to reveal the disease entity of MASH/MASLD.
